IT IS YOUR BIRTHDAY befasst sich mit Zwischenzuständen, mit Orten der Transformation und Imagination. Lili Süper verwandelt das La Felce in eine Gesamtinstallation, die von Unbehaglichkeit oder Unsicherheit erzählt, die entsteht, wenn wir Dinge nicht einordnen können. Durch größere, aber auch subtilere Gestaltungseingriffe wird ein Raum kreiert, der nostalgische Erinnerungen hervorruft und gleichzeitig mit kurioser Unheimlichkeit spielt. Johannes Hoffmann entwickelte eine Performance und daraus resultierende Installation, die dem Prinzip der ewigen Wiederholung folgend durchritualisiert ist. Anhand der Intensität einer Hand voll Noten geht es um Einfachheit, Emotion und liminale Zustände – einen Schwellenzustand, in dem die Vergangenheit für eine kurze Zeit nicht relevant ist und die Zukunft noch nicht begonnen hat. Ein Moment voller Möglichkeiten, in dem alles in einem fragilen Gleichgewicht schwebt. Auch die Arbeit selbst befindet sich in einem Zwischenzustand: zwischen Ereignis und Ereignislosigkeit, Anwesenheit und Abwesenheit der Körper, Konzert und Sound-Installation.

IT IS YOUR BIRTHDAY deals with the in-between, with places of transformation and imagination. Lili Süper creates a spatial installation for La Felce. It tells of the discomfort or uncertainty that arises when we are unable to categorise things. Through major and also more subtle changes, a space is created that evokes nostalgic memories and at the same time plays with curiosity and eeriness. Johannes Hoffmann developed a performance and corresponding installation that follows the principle of eternal repetition and is ritualised throughout. Based on the intensity of a handful of notes, it is about simplicity and emotion and liminal states: about a threshold state in which for a short time the past is not relevant and the future has not yet begun – a moment full of possibilities in which everything hovers in a fragile balance. The work itself is also in-between states: between event and uneventfulness, presence and absence of bodies, concert and sound installation.
